Across Wolności Square is the Farmer’s Bank building, dating back to 1912. This business and financial institution was known for its versatility. It made loans to Polish farmers on preferential terms, saving many of them from indebtedness and having to forfeit their land to the Prussian state.

One of the Bank’s founders and its main shareholder was Jan Działyński, whose bust is featured on the building’s façade.
